ARC Mechanical took on the responsibility to provide a designed build of 123,197 SF of refrigerated space in Monogram Gourmet Foods’ new facility in Haverhill, Massachusetts. In a competitive bid that took considerable time to work through and construct, ARC Mechanical worked closely with Dacon Corporation to be awarded the project in early 2021. In a two-phase set project, ARC set forth to break out each phase to meet and exceed the current deliverables. With time management, pre-construction abilities, prefabrication and open communication, this project is set up to provide the design build results awarded to ARC Mechanical.
Through pre-construction and engineering, our team worked closely to design 200 TR of freezer storage space, 100 TR of cooler/dock space, 250 TR of assembly production/packaging space and 30 TR of tempering room space. To handle this capacity of refrigeration, we designed a two-stage central ammonia system to maximize capacity, energy efficiencies and maintenance capabilities to exceed Monogram Gourmet Foods’ objectives.
The construction process included supplying and installing 6,670 linear feet of pipe, fittings, and valves that meet Massachusetts building codes in low and medium temperature applications. Along with installation, ARC Mechanical fully coordinated and managed multiple sub-contractors to handle sheet metal applications, insulation needs, rigging capabilities and electrical controls installation. With a fully staffed project team that includes an onsite Project Foreman, Outside Superintendent, Project Management Team, and fully staffed Engineering Team, we are all aligned to complete this project for Dacon Corporation and Monogram Gourmet Foods with success today and in the future.
